About the Game
Why Tax Tycoon?
My name is Mr. Josh, and I have taught economics on and off for around 20 years, all in the Arabian Gulf. I've always wanted a simulation on government and taxes, but none was available. So I built one for my students to help them learn.
Marginal Benefits?
But then I realized I could make this for everyone, and maybe make a little money a long the way. I spent time creating the game, purchased a subscription for the site I used to create the app, bought the the domain "taxtycoongame.com", and paid for the business features of the web editor I use. I did all that because I am hoping to make a little pocket money. I make money when users scroll past the ads of the site, and when a teacher purchases any resources I created to go along with this game.
The Ethical Dilemma
See, now here's where my profit motive as an entrepreneur, and my altruism as an educator are pitted against each other. Should I share where I made the site, and thereby inviting competition for this game, which will reduce my ad revenue? Or should I share the information and thereby benefiting all educators and students everywhere to come up with their own game?
